Philosophy

Watermark works in co-operation with all existing groups and is developing its own membership of people who care about the future of the Lakes.

Watermark will promote a suite of programs aimed at achieving environmental health and sustainability of the Gippsland region.

Committee members live throughout Gippsland and have a diverse range of professional backgrounds and interests.

The pursuit of Watermark’s specific objectives have been many and varied, such as:-

  • the attraction of philanthropic funds for the Heart Morass Wetlands rehabilitation and land acquisition that has enabled major restoration works to be put in place.
  • the dissemination of information and provision of environmental education materials.
  • encouragement of and support for ongoing research.
  • attraction of philanthropic funds for private wetland areas restoration and rehabilitation projects.
  • the conduct of workshops and information sessions to educate the community in general and particular interest groups and land managers.
